Magnolia, Room by Room

There are so many ways to use Magnolia beyond the kitchen. A canister holds baking ingredients, makeup brushes, or the little things that collect by the front door. Coasters belong just as easily in the coffee nook as they do beside a cozy chair, while pillows, tea towels, and other pieces carry the floral throughout the rest of the home.

IN THE KITCHEN

Pretty Enough to Leave Out

Magnolia canisters keep everyday ingredients close by, while the glass cutting boards, trivets, spoon rests, and tea towels are ready for all the little jobs that happen in the kitchen. Because each piece is useful and pretty, it can stay on the counter and become part of the decorating too.

IN THE BAKING NOOK

Made for Baking—and Brunch

The Magnolia pieces I use for everyday baking can also turn this corner into a breakfast or brunch buffet. Small canisters hold blueberries and jams, glass cutting boards become serving boards, and a tea towel lines the bread basket. Add mugs, coasters, and trivets, and everything needed for serving is right there.

AT THE COFFEE CORNER

Before the House Wakes Up

A Magnolia mug, a pretty coaster, and the first cup of coffee make this one of the nicest places to begin the day. I keep a canister close by for the coffee essentials, then bring in a tray, a small lamp, and flowers to make the corner feel like more than just a place for the coffee maker.

THE DINING ROOM

Passed Around the Table

The smaller Magnolia pieces have more uses than their names might suggest. A canister becomes a butter dish or a serving jar for pickles, olives, berries, or jam. Trivets hold warm dishes, oil and vinegar bottles, or condiments, while coasters and pot holders add more of the floral around the table.

THE LIVING ROOM

A Place to Sit Awhile

Magnolia pillows bring the floral into the living room, while a mug, coasters, and an engraved tray make the little table beside the chair both useful and pretty. Change the flowers and the colour of the throw, and the same pieces can carry the room from summer into autumn.

THE ENTRYWAY

A Pretty Place for the Little Things

Canisters are just as useful in the entryway as they are in the kitchen. Use them to hold keys, hair ties, lip gloss, or anything else you want close by as you head out the door. A Magnolia placemat beneath the arrangement adds another layer and helps connect it all.

THE GUEST BATH

A Pretty Place for the Little Things

A Magnolia canister makes a pretty holder for makeup brushes, cotton pads, or other bathroom necessities. Mixed with flowers, wicker baskets, and a few seasonal pieces, it brings the same cottage floral into a room where you might not expect to find it.

Magnolia Through The Seasons

The Magnolia pieces stay much the same throughout the year; it is everything around them that changes. Flowers, ribbons, linens, and a few seasonal decorations are often all it takes to give each room a different look.

  • MAGNOLIA FOR SUMMER - Fresh Colour and Cottage Florals

For summer, I pair Magnolia with blue and white, fresh greenery, lighter linens, and natural textures. The floral is neutral but feels right for the season without limiting the other colours or pieces I want to use around it.

  • MAGNOLIA FOR AUTUMN - Warmed Up for Autumn

When autumn arrives, I bring in warmer florals, deeper wood tones, rich ribbon, textured throws, and a few small pumpkins. Magnolia stays in place while the colours around it change, giving each room an autumn look without replacing everything that was already there.
